Samuel Adam HAMMOND, son of John HAMMOND & Susannah his wife was
Born on Wednesday 27th day of August in the year of our Lord,
Christ Seventeen hundred & eighty three. 1783.
Charley HAMMOND Son of John HAMMOND & the above Susannah his
wife was Born on Sunday morning about 10 o'clock the 27th of
October in the year of our Lord Christ 1776.
Samuel Adam HAMMOND Departed this life on the thirteenth day of
January in the year of our Lord Christ 1815 and in the 32nd year
of his age.
Charley HAMMOND departed this life on the 21st day of January
1837 in the sixty first year of his age. His ????? was
occasioned by ????? of Epilepsy
Handwritten on a blank page of this Bible:
John HAMMOND son of Charles HAMMOND and Elizabeth his wife was
Born at their residence in Richmond County Virginia on the 24th
April 1749.
Now state it is 6th May.
Sucky BACON was Born in Virginia on 11th April 1747 and was
daughter of John BACON and Frances his wife - She was the wife
of the above named John HAMMOND when he Died on the 20th of
November 1784.
Elizabeth BLAND daughter of George BLAND and Mary his wife was
Born 17th March 1755 & was married to John HAMMOND 15th March
1787 - She died the 17th August 1800 & was interred at Mount
Airy.
Mary Ann Douglass HAMMOND daughter of the above named John &
Elizabeth was Born 15th March 1790 and was Married to John B.
BARNES of Maryland in 1806.
Francis HAMMOND daughter of John & Susannah HAMMOND was Born 8th
May 1781 and Died 1st July 1782.
John HAMMOND Died on the 16th of June 1800 at his residence in
the Village of Campbellton of the wound he received on the night
of the 21st of the previous month of May by the discharge of a
musket from unknown assassin. He bore his sufferings with
exemplary & Christian fortitude and left this world for that
from whence no traveler returns, surrounded by a number of
?????? friends whose anguish was great yet softened by the
composure and fortitude with which the unfortunate victim of
savage barbarity took his leave of the living to sleep with his
Father - He was Buried at Mount Airy in Augusta Ga. on the Bank
of Savannah river in South Coweta. His age was fifty one years,
one month and ten days.
