Located at the Clay County Recorder.  Searchable death index covers years 1872-1980.

Clay County Marriage Record Index

Located at the Clay County Recorder.  Index covers years 1872 to 1939.  Information included on these early marriage certificates: Date, name of groom, his county and state of residence, his age, maiden name of bride, her county and state of residence, her age, date of marriage, where the marriage took place, two witnesses names, name of person officiating the marriage, book and page number where the record may be found.

Minnesota Statewide Birth Certificates Index

Located at the Minnesota Historical Society.  Includes an index of all public birth certificates on file at the Minnesota State Department of Health for years 1900-1934.

Minnesota Statewide Death Certificates Index

Located at the Minnesota Historical Society.  Includes an index of all public death certificates and death cards on file at the Minnesota State Department of Health for years 1904-1907 and 1908 to 2001.

Morrison County Death Index

Features an index to early deaths occurring in Morrison County, MN.  Covers deaths as early as 1889.  These early death records may be obtained from the Morrison County Recorder if the exact date of death is known.  This index can provide that information.

Olmsted County Probate Records Index

Located at the Olmsted County Historical Society.  Features a searchable index.  The records may include, a copy of the will, death date, place of death, estate records and a list of heirs.

Otter Tail County Death Records Index

Located at The History Museum of East Otter Tail County.  Features a searchable index which includes birth and death records in Perham for years 1892-1900 along with some cemetery records and newspaper items.

Pipestone County Marriage Records

Located at the Pipestone County Museum.  Features alphabetical indexes of marriages which occurred in Pipestone County.  Indexed by both bride and groom's names for years 1879-1891.

Rochester Death Records Index

Located at the Olmsted County Historical Society.  Searchable index to the original ledger books of Rochester, Olmsted County, MN.  Contains death records 1871-1940.  Also see the Vine Funeral Home Index.  It was located in Rochester and the records often include copies of the death certificates.  Later years include helpful family information as well.

St. Louis County Death Records Index

Located at the St. Louis County USGenWeb.  Index covers years 1870 through 2000 and includes deaths which occurred in St. Louis County, MN.

Order Minnesota Vital Records Online 

Minnesota birth and death certificates may only be ordered by mail from the Minnesota Department of Health.  The Minnesota Department of Health only holds birth and death records from 1900 to 1997.

Earlier records and In-person requests can only be handled at the local registrar office in each county.  The registrar can access birth records 1900 to present time and death records after 1997 for any county now. 

Marriage certificates and divorce decrees are only available from the county where the event occurred.  To obtain these records, contact the local registrar.
